A new studio. Not new work.
Forward Init is a creative studio in Kuala Lumpur. The name is recent; the practice behind it is not — this is the same hands that built the work in the portfolio, under a name that finally describes what the work is for.
Three things: we build websites, we look after them, and we bring traffic to them.
They are sold separately because they are separate jobs, but they are run by one studio because the seams between them are where most websites fail. A build that ignores how the traffic will arrive produces a beautiful page that converts nobody. An ad account pointed at a page its manager cannot change is an argument waiting to happen. Maintenance handed to a stranger turns every small edit into an investigation.
Keeping all three in one place is not a bundle. It is the answer to a question clients ask constantly and rarely get a straight answer to: when the numbers move, who is responsible?
Built, not assembled
Every site is written for the business it belongs to. Templates and page builders are faster for us and worse for you, and the difference shows up two years in, when the thing has to change.
We will disagree with your brief
You know your business; we know what a page can be made to do. The useful part of the engagement is where those two disagree, so we say it out loud rather than build what was asked for and invoice.
The site is yours
The code, the domain, the accounts. Nothing is held hostage as a retention strategy — if the work is worth keeping, it should be able to survive you being free to leave.
Small on purpose
A few builds at a time, so the person who designed your site is the person who builds it and the person who answers when something breaks. It is also why the answer is sometimes a date rather than a yes.
We are the wrong studio for some jobs.
Better to know now than three emails in.

- A price that has already been set by a quote from someone else
- Anything where the brief is to copy a competitor's site
- Marketing where the ad budget is smaller than the fee to manage it
If one of those is you and you want a recommendation instead, ask anyway. We would rather point you somewhere useful than win the wrong project.
